Leaders and professionals from the maritime and shipping sectors gathered in the scenic region of Izu, Japan, for the MTS Adventure Race Japan 2025, a four-day event combining physical challenge, camaraderie, and charitable purpose. Held from May 15 to 18, the event was designed to raise funds in support of seafarers and their families worldwide. Hosted at the Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji, the event welcomed key participants such as 2/E Minami Ryutaro (Libera/Japan), Capt. Manoj Mishra (Laurel/Singapore), Rowell Beluso (Dalisay Shipping Corporation/Philippines), and other representatives from companies within the global shipping industry.
The first day began with a warm welcome and dinner, providing attendees a chance to connect and set the tone for the challenges ahead. The adventure officially kicked off on May 16 with two endurance trail races: the Black Dragon (20 km) and the Green Dragon (8 km), both to be completed within a 4-hour timeframe. Participants tested their limits across the mountainous terrain, demonstrating teamwork, resilience, and strategic thinking.
