The Davao Seafarers’ Center (DSC) conducted another successful Cadetship Selection Program on the campus of Holy Cross of Davao College last March 25, 2025, gathering 22 aspiring deck cadets eager to take their first step into a maritime career. The one-day program began with an orientation at 8:30 AM, followed by a rigorous CES and APRO examination from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In the afternoon, candidates underwent technical and psychological interviews to further assess their competence and readiness for life at sea. Key DSC delegates were present to facilitate and oversee the selection event, including Capt. Eduardo M. Limpin (DSC President), Mr. Rowell Beluso (Senior Manager), and DSC Staffs. The Cadetship Selection Program aims to identify, evaluate, and nurture promising maritime students who have the potential to become competent and responsible seafarers. Through a structured assessment process—including written examinations, technical evaluations, and psychological interviews—the program ensures that only the most qualified and committed candidates are selected for further training.
